Last Tuesday, I stopped a bank robbery. Sort of. The robber tripped over my untied shoelace, hit his head on a planter, and I accidentally sat on him while trying to find my inhaler. The news called me "The Bumbling Guardian." My mom called me "grounded."

I jump.

Tonight is my first real patrol.

Tomorrow, I’m buying better shoelaces. “Every hero starts at level one. The trick is surviving your own origin story.”

The comic books skip the part where your spandex rides up in places spandex was never meant to go.
