Android emulators enable PC users to run mobile apps, but downloading them from third-party platforms like UpToDown poses security risks. This paper examines BlueStacks 3, an outdated version available on UpToDown, and highlights potential threats including unsigned executables, lack of security patches, and bundled adware. A comparative analysis with the official BlueStacks 5 installer shows that third-party versions often bypass update mechanisms and antivirus checks. The paper concludes that users should avoid obsolete emulator versions and always use official distribution channels to mitigate malware and data privacy risks.
