The text “M4P” on the found phone? A final plea from that friend asking Trevor to “meet for pizza” and talk — a meeting Trevor ghosted (pun intended) because he was too ashamed. The friend later died in a car accident, and Trevor never forgave himself. It turns out “M4P” was his college nickname:

Just as you’re wiping away tears, the episode hits its cliffhanger. The séance table in the basement starts glowing. A loud crack echoes through the mansion. Sam runs downstairs to find a — a young man in early-2000s clothes, confused, holding a pizza box.

The episode gives us our first extended Trevor flashback (2003). No club music or partying — just a tense dorm room scene. Trevor is young, arrogant, and desperately trying to impress his father. He pushes a bad investment on a trusting buddy, then bails when the stock tanks.

Sam, being the living bridge between worlds, tracks down the friend’s sister using the phone’s contacts. She arranges a video call, and Trevor (invisible to her, audible to Sam) dictates a tearful apology. It’s a beautiful, weird, and heartbreaking scene: a ghost from 2003 saying sorry to a living woman who can’t see him but can hear Sam repeat every word.
