This is Google’s official echo test. It will ask for mic access, record you, and play it back. If you can hear yourself here, your mic works perfectly for real meetings. Technology fails at the worst times. If you are five minutes late and still can't get the mic working, click the three vertical dots in the Google Meet window and select "Use a phone for audio." It will give you a dial-in number. Call that number on your cell phone to use your phone's mic instantly.
