He has just found a dusty external hard drive in a box labeled “Dad – Office.” It’s old. SATA. He has to buy three adapters from Amazon before he can even plug it in. When he finally does, Windows 11 chimes—that soft, sterile, new-age tone—and File Explorer opens. No drive letter

The Z: drive appears. He double-clicks. Inside, he creates a new folder: “For Daniel.” The data is there, but the path is broken

His fingers hover over the keyboard. He doesn’t have a network share. He has a dead drive, a dead father, and a lifetime of half-finished conversations. But he types anyway.
