Maya tried to move her mouse. The cursor had become a small, glowing keyhole. Wherever she pointed, a lock appeared. She clicked her "Documents" folder—it turned into a vintage chest, then melted into the background like a Dali painting.
Cortana’s icon flickered. "I'm sorry, Maya. The ghost in the theme engine has locked all defaults. Would you like me to recommend a new aesthetic? I'm thinking 'Eldritch Biomes.'"
