A decaying, rain-slicked village on a shrinking island. Once a fishing community, it now houses only the elderly and the faithful of the Drowning God cult. Time feels wrong here. Clocks tick backward for a second every minute. The tide comes in faster than physics allows. The Central Mystery The "Drowning Game" is a ritual performed every 15 years. Three "players" are chosen. Over three nights, they must solve three "drownings"—symbolic puzzles based on historical deaths by water on the island. The winner receives a "boon" (long life, good fortune). The losers… become part of the tide.
